A standard seller sells a $25 card with $0.99 shipping, so the buyer pays $25.99 before tax. The marketplace commission is 10.75% of $25.99 = $2.79. The transaction fee is 2.5% of $25.99 = $0.65 plus $0.30 = $0.95. Fees total $3.74 and the payout is $25.99 − $3.74 = $22.25. After the $12 the card cost and $1 of postage and supplies, profit is $9.25.

How TCGplayer fees work

TCGplayer is the largest US marketplace for trading card games: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, One Piece, and more, plus sealed product and accessories. Sellers range from players flipping a few pulls to local game stores syncing thousands of listings, and the marketplace is owned by eBay.

A standard seller (Level 1 through 4) pays two fees on every order. The marketplace commission is 10.75% of the item price plus shipping, capped at $75 per product sold. The transaction fee is 2.5% + $0.30 per order, calculated on the full order total including shipping and sales tax. On a $25 card with $0.99 shipping, that is $2.79 plus $0.95, leaving $22.25 before postage.

Pro sellers, who get the Pro storefront and tools, pay a lower 9.25% commission but add a 2.5% Pro fee, both also capped at $75 per product, so their marketplace-side rate is 11.75% versus 10.75% for standard sellers. Sellers who sync inventory through Crystal Commerce, BinderPOS, or Ion pay 9.25% with no Pro fee.

TCGplayer Direct sellers, who ship inventory to TCGplayer for fulfillment, pay 8.95% commission, a 2.5% transaction fee on items only, and per-card Direct fees. Direct is not modeled here; see the notes.

Marketplace commission (standard sellers): 10.75% of the item price and of the shipping charged, capped at $75 per product sold. TCGplayer's own example shows the commission applied separately to the card price and the shipping.
Transaction fee: 2.5% of the order total (items + shipping + tax) plus $0.30 per order for US orders. International orders are charged 3.5% + $0.30.
Pro sellers (non-Direct): 9.25% marketplace commission plus a 2.5% Pro fee, each capped at $75 per product, with the same 2.5% + $0.30 transaction fee.
Sync sellers (Crystal Commerce, BinderPOS, Ion): 9.25% commission, no Pro fee, same transaction fee. Sync provider fees are set by the provider.
Direct sellers: 8.95% commission (plus 2.5% Pro fee on Pro accounts), a 2.5% transaction fee on items only, and Direct fees of $1.12 per card above $2.49 or 50% of the card value for cards at $2.49 or less.
The $0.30 is per order, not per card, so multi-card orders spread it across every card in the package.

Ways to keep more of each TCGplayer sale

Encourage bigger orders. The $0.30 fixed fee is per order, so a $2 single with $0.99 shipping loses about 23% to fees while a $50 order of ten singles loses about 14%.
Price shipping realistically. Both the 10.75% commission and the 2.5% transaction fee apply to shipping, so charging $3.99 for an envelope costs you about $0.53 in fees on the shipping alone.
Standard sellers pay 1% less than Pro on the marketplace side (10.75% vs 11.75%). Only move to Pro if the storefront, buylist, or tools earn back that point.
For high-value cards the $75 cap kicks in above about $697 at 10.75%: a $1,000 card pays $75 commission (7.5%), not $107.50.
Keep supplies cheap. On a $25 card, a $1 penny sleeve, top loader, and envelope combo is a bigger cost than the $0.30 fixed fee.

With $0.99 shipping and no tax, a standard seller pays 10.75% of $100.99 = $10.86 commission plus 2.5% of $100.99 + $0.30 = $2.82, so $13.68 in fees and a payout of $87.31.

What is the TCGplayer fee cap?

Marketplace commission and Pro fees are capped at $75 per product sold. The 2.5% + $0.30 transaction fee is not capped.

Is TCGplayer Pro cheaper than a standard account?

Not on fees alone. Pro pays 9.25% commission plus a 2.5% Pro fee (11.75% total) versus 10.75% for standard sellers. Pro adds a storefront, buylist, and tools rather than a discount.

Does TCGplayer charge a listing or monthly fee?

No. Listing is free and fees are charged only when an order is placed. Certain Pro tiers and sync providers have their own subscription costs.

When does TCGplayer pay sellers?

Order proceeds are credited to your seller balance after fees, and payouts follow TCGplayer's payment schedule (typically weekly by direct deposit). Check the seller help center for current payout timing.

Fee percentages and the $75 per-product cap are from the TCGplayer Fees page (last updated for clarity 8/20/25) and the Fee Calculation Examples page (updated 4/24/26). Direct sellers, Sync sellers, and international orders (3.5% + $0.30) are described in the fee table but not modeled; Direct also carries per-card fees and a minimum-price requirement for Direct-fulfilled inventory (enforced by February 10, 2026). This calculator rounds each fee line separately, so totals can differ from TCGplayer's own examples by a cent. The per-product cap is applied here to a single product; multi-quantity orders are capped per product, not per order. Payout timing was not verified on an official page for this update. TCGplayer's help center does not state a date for the move to 10.75% for standard sellers.
