A $40 delivery order on the Lite plan pays Uber Eats 20%, which is $8.00, leaving $32.00 for the restaurant. After $12 of food and packaging cost the order earns $20.00. On Plus the fee is $10.00 and on Premium $12.00; a validated pickup order pays only $2.80.
How Uber Eats (Merchants) fees work
Uber Eats is the second-largest food delivery marketplace in the United States and runs on the same app as Uber rides. Restaurants list a menu, Uber Eats handles ordering and payment, and couriers deliver. Merchants pay a percentage of each order rather than a subscription.
Uber Eats sells four plans. Lite charges a 20% marketplace fee on delivery orders, though Uber's page says the Lite rate is reduced in select cities such as Portland, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, starting as low as 15%. Plus charges 25% and Premium charges 30%; both start with a 0% introductory rate for 30 days, and Premium includes visibility to Uber One members at no extra cost while Plus offers it for an additional 5% on Uber One orders. Premium also promises 0% fees for the first 6 months in any month you receive fewer than 20 orders. If you deliver with your own drivers, the Self-delivery plan is 15%, rising to 25% on any order you hand to Uber's courier network.

Ways to keep more of each Uber Eats (Merchants) sale
- Validate your in-store pricing. It cuts the pickup fee from 10% to 7% on every plan, and pickup already avoids the 20%–30% delivery fee.
- If you are in a reduced-rate Lite city, ask Uber for the local rate in writing; the page says it starts at 15% rather than 20%.
- Use the 30-day 0% period on Plus or Premium to measure the extra orders before paying 25% or 30% for the bigger radius.
- On Plus, only turn on the Uber One boost if those orders are worth an extra 5% to you; on Premium it is already included.
- Restaurants with their own drivers save the most on Self-delivery at 15%, but watch how many orders fall back to Uber's network at 25%.
