On a $100 order Fiverr keeps 20%, or $20.00, and you earn $80.00 once the order clears. The client separately pays a service fee of 5.5% ($5.50) plus $3.50 because the order is under $200, so they are charged $109.00; that fee does not come out of your $80.00. With no delivery cost, profit is $80.00.

How Fiverr fees work

Fiverr is a freelance marketplace where you list fixed-price services (Gigs) starting at $5 and clients order them directly. Writers, designers, developers, video editors, voice actors, and marketers sell there, and prices are set in US dollars no matter where you live.

The seller fee is simple: Fiverr keeps 20% and you earn 80% of the purchase amount, including Gig extras and tips. A $100 order pays you $80; a $20 tip pays you $16. There is no listing fee and no monthly fee for a basic seller account.

Clients pay a separate service fee on top of your price. Fiverr's payments article puts it at 5.5% of the purchase amount plus $3.50 on orders under $200, charged on every payment, including extras and tips. It does not reduce your 80%, but it does make your Gig look more expensive to the client: a $50 Gig costs them $56.25.

Money from a completed order sits in a 14-day clearing period (shorter for Top Rated, Seller Plus, and Fiverr Pro sellers) before you can withdraw it. Eligible freelancers can skip the wait for a 1% Early Payout fee. Withdrawals to PayPal are free; bank transfer via Payoneer costs $1 and a Payoneer account $3 per withdrawal.

Fiverr fee FAQ

How much does Fiverr take from sellers?

20% of every payment, including Gig extras and tips. You earn 80%, so a $100 order pays you $80 and a $10 tip pays you $8.

What is the Fiverr buyer service fee?

Fiverr's payments article states 5.5% of the purchase amount plus $3.50 on orders under $200, added at checkout on every payment including tips. It is paid by the client and does not reduce your 80%.

Does Fiverr take 20% of tips?

Yes. The 80% you earn applies to the purchase amount including tips, so Fiverr keeps 20% of a tip too. The client also pays the service fee on the tip.

How long until I can withdraw Fiverr earnings?

14 days after the order is marked complete for standard sellers; Top Rated, Seller Plus, and Fiverr Pro sellers have a shorter clearing period. Eligible sellers can pay 1% for Early Payout.

Does Fiverr charge to withdraw money?

PayPal withdrawals are free. Bank transfer via Payoneer costs $1 and a Payoneer account $3 per withdrawal. Minimums are $1, $20, and $10 respectively.

Does Fiverr charge a monthly fee?

No. A standard seller account has no monthly or listing fee; Fiverr earns its 20% only when you complete an order. Seller Plus and Fiverr Pro subscriptions are optional paid programs.

How much do I get from a $5 Fiverr order?

$4.00. Fiverr keeps $1.00 (20%). The client pays $8.78 in total: $5 plus a $0.28 (5.5%) fee and the $3.50 small-order fee.

Good to know

Fiverr's help articles currently disagree on the client fee: the dedicated payments article says 5.5% plus $3.50 on orders under $200, while the 'How Fiverr works for clients' overview says 5.5% plus $3.00 on orders under $100. This page uses the dedicated payments article; either way the client fee does not change your 80%. Early Payout requires eligibility. Withdrawal fees and clearing periods are as stated in Fiverr's withdrawal and freelancer articles; Fiverr Ads, Seller Plus, and Fiverr Pro pricing are not covered. Your withdrawal provider may charge currency conversion.
